Christian Brothers Moving

Workers used drugs on my job. Liars, unscrupulous management.

In all sincerity I wrestled with posting this review but after reading the reviews of others who had similar experiences I felt I should.

To be fair, I used them in Dec. 2018 to move to a rental home and the crew was superb! I requested that crew again and was told I'd get them, but it didn't happen.

This crew was unscrupulous, lazy, in a rush and to top it all off, they smoked weed in the trucks in front of my home. I had to call the police on this company who I'm paying $100/hr to move me. I was floored! I've never seen anything like this in my life.

Management was not helpful at all. I requested a field supervisor to come out, they said they didn't have one to send. Sabrina kept assuring me that I have their best crew and we could talk about it after the move. I asked the office manager who her boss was. After telling me he wasn't present, and my pressing hard enough for him to contact me, he magically appears on the phone and said "I just pulled up". The workers left numerous items behind and broke several items to include a dining table (cracked at the seams that attaches the base to the table). They didn't put items in rooms, but stuffed them all in my storage areas. They didn't put beds back together or do anything that the first crew did, and what is expected when you're paying a MOVING company to MOVE you.

I used this company because of the name. After the first service I was raving about them, but after this move, I realize their true colors were shown. They say they don't use laborers but everyone works for them, yet there's always someone who just happened to "start today".

I will say, John (owner or general manager, he never told me), attempted to be reasonable, but he had no sense of urgency. He threatened to keep my household goods because I was escalating the situation, in his words. I get into a verbal argument with their workers for using drugs on my job, he accuses me of being a racist (I'm a black man and all workers were black or Hispanic), not being truthful and being a "trouble-starting man". When I asked if he could come out to the site because workers were using drugs, he refused saying he had "numerous jobs and couldn't come out to them." I was shocked that they would take the drug use ONE THE JOB, IN COMMERCIAL VEHICLES SO LIGHTLY! I could not have been more disgusted!

I called at the end of the day to negotiate payment and he leaves word with his office manager that "if he doesn't want to pay I don't want his money". So, while I'm grateful for the "free" move, it would've demonstrated more character and customer service to listen to my complaint, not accuse me of lying, and evaluate your organization to make it better. The free move was a cop out to not have to hear someone say things may not be as you think.

I would never use this company again and would never recommend them to anyone. They are a liability. They disrespected my home, my wife and my kids. When I questioned them about it, they didn't deny it but deflected the issue by saying "did you see us using drugs", "is it a possibility that someone in your neighborhood could've been using drugs?" "I'm not saying anyone did or didn't use drugs, but if that had happened they would've been reprimanded." (These are the two leaders on the site responding to my questioning them about the fresh smell of $@!#% in and around their trucks; I was a cop for 8 years, I know what I'm talking about here)

I hate posting negative reviews and always try to find some good, but this company is just not what they represent themselves to be. STAY AWAY, they are a liability, STAY AWAY

We are genuinely displeased to have seen this move go so awry. We sent John one of our top crews the lead mover has been with us for five years and has been in the industry for over 15 years. Another mover on his crew has been with us for almost a decade. The other three have all either been with us or in the industry for five to ten years. So I am unsure where the comment of one of them happened to start today is coming from. We do not use a single day laborer. All of our movers are employees of our company. Not a single crew member was new. We do always try to send the crew that our customer requests, but unfortunately the same crew is not always available. This was the situation for this move so we sent over a top crew instead.
From the moment the day began working with John became a challenge. He called first thing in the morning and yelled at a representative regarding the credit card authorization. This is something we are explicit about and John has used us before and has already gone through this process.
A while later our crew was accused of smoking weed, we contacted the lead mover and spoke directly with John. This crew has never been accused of this before, they receive 5 star reviews on a daily basis so this accusation did come as quite a surprise to us. But this is not something we take lightly. We informed John that if calling the cops was something that would make him feel more comfortable, then he should do so. John chose not to call the cops.
The crew properly loaded the truck in such a timely manner that when we brought this up to John he was unable to comment. All of his belongings were properly delivered. The crews are always consistent in asking customers which pieces to place where. In this situation John brought down six of his friends to intimidate our crew which certainly made things a bit uncomfortable.
Our movers would never disrespect one's family, in fact, the crew had nothing but wonderful things to say about John's wife and her kindness but were very unsure why John was so unhappy with them.
We do strive for satisfied customers but we always must look at both sides of the situation. Especially when it involves a crew that 99% of our customers love.
We ask that you look at the thousands of other reviews we receive on a daily basis on sites such as BBB, Angie's List, My Moving Reviews, Google, YP, etc. Unfortunately Yelp has flagged our account due to us not being willing to pay for advertising. So please check out any other review page to see the kind of company we actually are.
