On Monday, Jan 17, 2022, Dylan Rose from Black Mtn Plumbing came to our house because our kitchen garbage disposal wasn't working.
I told Dylan that both me and my husband placed the little tool in the center bottom area of the garbage disposal. We moved it left to right several times. We turned on the water in the kitchen sink and flipped the wall switch. After several tries, it didn't turn on.

I said, we need to call Black Mtn Plumbing and schedule an appointment.

Dylan used the little silver tool that is used to loosen the garbage disposal so it will work. He explained the little red button in the bottom of the garbage disposal "popped" out. He told me that the red button is a safety feature of the garbage disposal. He explained the red button needs to be pushed in on the bottom of the garbage disposal to reset the garbage disposal.

He asked if I could give him a few ice cubes. Then he pushed the red button, placed some ice cubes in the sink and flipped on the kitchen wall switch the that turns the garbage disposal, and it worked.

He didn't try to sell me a new garbage disposal. Said ... "your disposal is about 8 years old. It still has several years to keep working." I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me a new garbage disposal. I did pay a service fee for him coming out to our house.

I learned a "big" lesson, I need to push the red button on the bottom of the garbage disposal in the future before calling to schedule an appointment.
