Charged to correct their own wiring mistake
An hvac inspection by the buyer for my house identified a noisy, overheating condenser fan motor with the conclusion that the motor was bad, so I called Family Air to check and replace under the parts warranty. The problem turned out to be that the capacitor was wired to a high voltage lug and shouldn’t have been. Great that Family Air identified the problem, but they wired it in the first place and replaced the capacitor themselves a couple of years later. I asked about this issue in an email and received only a $95 bill for the service call in response. I wonder whether the capacitor that failed before (with a $95 bill by Family Air) was because of this, too.
