Todd Whitaker and TWD, Inc. saved us from a renovation nightmare! After 14 months of dealing with a contractor who moved very slowly and communicated very little, he finally delivered the approved building permit from the City. The very next day he withdrew from the project…by email. I then contacted 3 new contractors to come look at the approved project and give us bids to start over. We liked the first 2, but Todd arrived with his whole crew of most important assistants and subs. After looking at the plans and our house, he said, “I can build this for you, but you’re not going to like it.” He then proceeded to explain why he didn’t think we would be happy with the prior plans, and he was absolutely right. He and his people then began to develop a plan that would optimize our space and delight us. The new plan required us to go through the drawing and permitting process again, but it was worth it. The build process was what you would expect from living in the demolition of 3 exterior walls and adding 144 square feet of interior living space…loud and dirty. However, TWD was with us every step of the way, communicating and solving inevitable problems. They estimated 6 weeks, but a couple of hiccups pushed it to 8. The final results were fabulous and beyond our wildest dreams. Todd had a vision that nobody else had, and made it come to life. We couldn’t recommend them more highly!
