Melody Music Studios

Very unprofessional and self absorbed

We paid the owner for quite a few years because my daughter who is 11 now wanted to continue. Her first teacher continuously canceled at the last minute. The last time he was suppose to come was right before her talent show and she was nervous and really needed his help; he knew this and never called or e-mailed just did not show up at all. His excuse was he had somewhere to go. I called the owner and she sent another instructor who for different reasons we had to let go. The owner was upset when I told her we were quitting. We are now going to a professional studio and my daughter is learning and happy. Kathy the owner of Melody Music has tried to charge us for lessons we never received. I do not think that is right. She expressed her anger at us for leaving her studio and I tried my best to be nice but she would not leave us alone. If anything she should refund some of our money for our wasted time, frustration and stress not the other way around. I am an honest person and there is right and wrong and this is so very wrong!

comments

At Melody Music Studios, we strive to have the most professional staff of instructors, and whenever there's a problem, I, Kathi Kerr, owner of Melody Music Studios, immediately do my best to fix the problem. In responding to Cheryl Wilder's comment, we apologized to her that she was unhappy with the lack of consistency she received from the first instructor, and than after taking lessons from the 2nd instructor for about a year, she was unhappy with her instruction. In her case, I waived the normal 30 day notice, and offered a free trial lesson with another instructor on staff. I realize that not every instructor is going to be the perfect match for each student, so when that happens, I either try and reassign the instructor, or say thank you for trying out our service. Out of the hundreds of student/instructor matches I've made in the past 22 years, it has been a rare incident when the student has not been happy with our service.
