I wasted 2 days. I had bought their $29 per month program for annual inspections and discounts. Monday, the tech came over. After telling me what he found, he proceeded to try to sell me either a new unit or work on the old one. I told him that I had to wait until January. That night, when I tried to turn the heater on, I discovered that neither the heater nor the A/C would turn on, but the fan stayed on all night long (the night got down to the upper 30s; in the house, it was down to 59. Tuesday, I called to get a supervisor to fix what was wrong. He said he loved his house when it was that cold (goodie for him!). It turned out to be some failsafe that the tech has overlooked. The supervisor then tried to sell me a new unit or work on the old one ($100+ per month or $7,500). Do these guys get paid to inspect and help with problems, or just to get a foot in the door so they can try to sell me things I can't afford??? As a 100 percent disabled veteran on a fixed income, I am deeply in debt, having to replace my truck, pay for my FORGIVEN student loans by borrowing from my credit union (the month before Trump signed that executive order), and other debts that take up the majority of my income. If they think this old ex military and civilian cop will buy their BS hard-sell routines, I can just as easily drop their service plan and find someone ELSE!!!
