We needed a van with a longer bed than standard rental van, and Empire offers them. We were quite surprised to see how much less we would be paying than had we gone with U-Haul or a car rental company. In addition to generous mileage allowances, Empire's rates for additional miles are ridiculously low. The people at the Bayside branch were particularly helpful in switching us from the commercial van we had reserved to a van with passenger plates so that we could travel on NY Parkways, the best way to get where we were going.
