Terrible Experience – Lack of Compassion and Basic Care
Terrible Experience – Lack of Compassion and Basic Care
I arrived at Adventist HealthCare (9901 Medical Center Drive, Rockville, MD) on April 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in excruciating pain from kidney stones. I was vomiting due to the severity of the pain and clearly in need of urgent care and overnight monitoring.
Now is 1:26 am and I still here waiting to be assigned into a room.
Despite this, I have not been admitted to a room and am still waiting, hours later. Every few hours I receive morphine, but I’ve had to stand up and beg for help just to get basic attention. When I asked the nurse when I would be moved or whether there was a wheelchair available so I could get to the bathroom, her only response was, "This is how hospitals are now."
That kind of answer is unacceptable. Patients in severe pain deserve compassion, communication, and timely care. The lack of organization and empathy here is deeply disappointing and concerning.
BUT FOR SURE THEY WANT THEIR MONEY.
I have insurance .. not even like that I was well treated - but for sure they will charge me .. Amazing
I sincerely hope this hospital takes a hard look at how it treats its patients in need of urgent care.
