Please allow me this opportunity to explain to you a recent confrontation at one of your Franchise dealerships. Over the year I have been a fan and loyal customer of not only the Stockbridge location, but of Macco in general was one of their first customer, when they were attempting to become a franchised dealer, and have remained loyal over the years. I have taken several of my personal vehicle there, as well as,refered many friend, family and coworkers. Each has been satisfied with the services they received. In any business operation there will be moments, where the rubber met the road, and parties disagree over expectations.During our initial discussions, I asked the manager what could I expect and what was the difference between what they do in a repair and what Hennessey Jaguar did. Given that the price was some different. She stated that Hennessey removes certain body parts to minimize overspray, hay in most cases do not. However I could expect a similar end result, and that there was a time that Hennessy had them do some of their body work, Prior to this moment, the management and I always worked out any issues, in a manner that I thought was mutually acceptable. If not, there would be no reason to continue doing business with that or any other establishment. Just a month prior I took my 87 corvette there for an estimate.
I am a business owner, an Elementary school teacher and can take my vehicle to any shop I chose. I chose Macco, over the opinion of my wife. Who felt I should take the vehicle to a more reputable shop? Until now I always believed that Macco on a good day, was as good if not better that most. I took the 2009 XKR,in for an estimate. On the day in question, I joked with Donna about getting a man to assist me.Given that the office staff was all female. We laughed, she greeted me, and who I believe was her daughter assisted me with the estimate. The damage was a small scratch on the passenger side quarter panel, it penetrated the paint and there was a blemish in the same area that required repair. Invoice 13412 was for $675.00.which included painting of two intake louvers on the hood. I brought the car in for the repairs on Monday the 31st of September 2019.I was told it would be repaired that week, but they could not promise the exact date. It was over 90 degrees in Georgia during that period, this vehicle is garage kept Around Thursday I contacted the shop, spoke to her daughter ,explained that the car is garage kept and I felt unease abut leaving it in the hot sun for over a week. There is a considerable investment in that vehicle, and I was concerned. I told her if they could not finish it this week, allow me to pick it up and I would bring it back the following week. Shortly after Donna contacted me.She stated that she did not like the way in which I was speaking to her staff and it I wanted to pick up the vehicle I could, but there was no guarantee that they would be able to repair it next week. I agreed to leave the vehicle, even though I detected a problem in her tone and demeanor.
Contact the shop Monday afternoon, they told me the vehicle should be ready by Tuesday afternoon. Arrived at the shop on Tuesday around 4 in the afternoon. The vehicle was ready, appeared to be repaired. Upon examination of the vehicle I noticed a large amount of overspray on the body, brought to mt attention by what appeared to be overspray on the windshield. After further examination of both the body and the actual repair. I reported to Donna, what appeared as imperfections in the finish, an orange peel effect, bubbles, overspray,in the wheel well, on the tire, on the rims, and a large amount of the body appeared to have overspray covering it.I signed their forms, paid for the repairs and took possession of the vehicle. The more I looked at eh vehicle and the repair the less I liked it.My wife kept telling me ,I told you so.I leave for school early and wanted to leave a message for Donna. The call was received by the answering service for Macco. They informed Stockbridge about my concerns and they returned the call that day, around 10 a.m. I returned the call and was told to bring the car back at with 9 in the morning or before 3 that afternoon. I could hear Donna speaking to her daughter ,about her knowing about the problem. However, she pays people to do that work and she was about for leave for the day.
I arrive at the shop around 10 am ,no one is in the office at the time. Her daughter comes in with this guy I always see at the shop. Looks like some type of enforcer always in short pant, tattooed and has never spoken to me in the years I have witnessed him at the shop. Her daughter asks for my vehicle keys, proceeds to drive the vehicle into a bay. I follow given that no one has asked me what the problem was. Once in the bay, I am confronted by Donna and the enforcer, I felt unease and a sense of fear. Donna was ranting about how even tough I was a good longtime customer, she did not like the way I was speaking to her and her staff. I thought that was strange, given our long business relationship and the fact that I had just sent her an e mail. Explaining my satisfaction with the service over the years, prior to this incident. The conversation is ramping up in intensity and volume. I requested that she release my vehicle and I would leave the shop. She refused to release my vechile, continuing to tell me that what I thought was overspray was just dirt and she was going to clean it off. I moved to enter my vehicle, she stepped in front of the driver’s door. Our hands touched, she screamed Do not push me.I felt for my safety, given that the enforcer was now moving in my direction. I immediately stepped out of the bay and called the local police.
There are two side to every story, the other is the truth. Regardless to the personal accounting of the incident. The evidence of the overspray and damages to the vehicle are clear and evident. I was informed by the police that if I ever return to this dealership, then I will be charged with CRIMINAL Trespass. This action action by Macco ,negates their ability to correct the massive damages, they created on my vehicle. Since I have contacted my Bank, where I am disputing the charges for the work. I stated to the Bank that once the problems are corrected, I will pay the necessary charges. Honestly the diminished value of my vehicle warrants further litigation. I call Macco Customer care and explained he same to them. A customer should never fear for them safely in any business. I am a member of a 10000-member union, after this is over, I believe this story desires to be told. Hopefully it will have an ending that is a win win for all parties involved.

Sincerely
Bernard Powell
