I bought my first e bike earlier this month from Alan at Hybrid Pedals. I was hesitant to purchase another bike, as I bought one several years ago (not an e bike) but rarely used it. I bike riding to be too arduous for regular commuting, as I need to show up to work ready and don't have time to shower, change out of spandex etc. My primary transportation last year was a Vespa, but I wanted to test ride an e bike to see if I could save on gas, registration, insurance etc. I also wanted to see if the e bike could match the Vespa convenience and open me up to commuting on the trail system in DC rather than the hellish roads that DC rush hour traffic can have.

The sale was smooth as the staff are genuine and helpful, much different than other bike shops in this area. Alan got me on a stylish Pedego Interceptor for less than I expected to spend. I did not expect how often people would ask about my bike, either because they like the style, or they wonder why I flew past them up a hill on a beach cruiser.

Anyway, my commute times are down, the bike is awesome, and I find that I take it joyriding often, getting me out into the city more often and to neighborhoods and places I normally would not visit because driving there is problematic.

I highly recommend an e bike, and Hybrid Pedals is a great shop with a large selection. It has all the benefits of a moped/scooter but is more versatile and less expensive. Very happy with my purchase.
