I had my eye on e-bikes for a few years and finally had the coin to go shopping. After a lot of on line research I rented a Pedego Interceptor (48v battery) and it climbed the hill to my house with no trouble at all. There are a lot of other e-bikes to pick from; some a lot cheaper, some a lot more money, Pedego has quality hardware, batteries and motor. That sets it's price class. As old B. Franklin said "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten".

Being in my late 50's, the hills around my house were getting bigger every year. I dreaded riding my road bike home. Now I love getting on the Pedego to ride to work (9 miles one way) or trips to the store just pleasure riding. Love it! I would not be riding much without the e-bike.

If there were one single area Pedego could change for easy bang for the buck it would be to use stainless steel spokes. I guess they went for styling and used black powder coated steel spokes to match the bike paint. But I live near the ocean and some corrosion is showing on the plain steel spokes. Some day I'll have the wheels re-laced with stainless. It's a minor criticism.
