Terrible Service

I hired the Oakville east gardener to do a spring cleanup, typical needs like leaf cleanup, weeding, edging, pruning. They did not come close to completing the job and had to have the owner come walk the property and after agreeing with me, had his crew come again. And yet again, it was not done.... huge weeds not pulled, leaves still in the garden beds and edging chunks in the garden beds. Left undone, I had to do most myself plus clean up all the chunks of edging (have pictures). His response to this was that I was way too picky and my expectations too high and why did I just not stick with my previous gardening service. Completely unprofessional and insulting. I will never use them again and obviously will not recommend.

I am so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the work provided by The Gardener Oakville East. This is rather surprising as Bernie is consistently at the top of our company for customer satisfaction and client retention. I have discussed this situation with Bernie and his office manager Cathy and while the initial visit encompassed a crew of 2 employees, both subsequent visits included the owner of the company who felt the work was completed at the usual high standards he has provided to clients throughout your area for many years. While you might have pictures of the "chunks of edging" you have neglected to mention in your review that Bernie did knock on your door and notified you that all due to the fact they hadn't been maintained in previously and contained many years worth of roots that doing more could do harm to the hedge. It was advised that the work wasn't as appealing as normal but that he was dealing with a new property and it could take a bit of time and further service to get it looking its best. Reality is that we can only do so much in one visit when a property has lacked regular maintenance in the past. While you are free and clear to post whatever you desire about our company I feel that people should also know that you never paid for any of the 12 plus hours of labour we supplied. While your home is very grand, please remember that you are taking advantage of a small business with employees to pay over a few leaves and "chunks of edging". While I would never say that someone is too picky as I find that rude as well I would say that unfortunately in this business we sometimes find it hard to satisfy every persons expectations. We will take it on the chin for the lost income and hope that in future you don't take advantage of other companies.
