I applaud "Welcome To Harlem" for their work in promoting Harlem's high-quality jazz culture. Their production of trombonist (and Harlem resident) Craig Harris' musical setting of James Weldon Johnson's "God's Trombones" was stellar, and will hopefully be repeated. The organization presents a range of excellent smaller jazz groups in the intimate, soulful setting of the Rendall Memorial Presbyterian Church. Any fan of good expressive music should appreciate "Welcome To Harlem"'s efforts.
