I've attended several wonderful afternoon concerts in the Harlem Jazz Series, produced by trombonist Craig Harris at Rendall Memorial Presbyterian Church, but this was their first evening concert of the series. The quartet, led by the amazing vocalist, Fay Victor, had a terrific musical communication among her accompanists: Sam Newsome on soprano sax, Ken Filano on bass, and Aruan Ortiz at the piano. It was truly a pleasure to watch and listen to their own enjoyment in their creations. A great beginning!
