I visit NYC every chance I get, and when I do, I always make a point of attending the Tuesday Afternoon Jazz Series at Rendall Memorial Presbyterian Church in Harlem. Craig Harris and his partners curate an excellent series, which always features world-class jazz artists who create deeply satisfying music. I was fortunate on my most recent visit that, although the series had been on a break, Craig Harris and Tailgater's Tales were scheduled to play. Craig Harris was joined by Rod Williams, Melissa Slocum, and Khalil Kwame Bell. Wonderful music was coupled with thoughtful reflections from Craig about Bob Cunningham, who had recently passed.
