Fooled by the scheduler into an upsell attempt and billed anyway.

I explained the problem to the scheduler who promised $29 as the charge - adjust the main spring
only. The tech showed up one day late and after looking at the door offered to replace a ton of parts for $450. I refused, then was asked to talk again to the scheduler who offered $175 for adjusting the spring. I still had to pay $29 for the service call, after refusing the $175 charge. Bait and switch.

We record all of our incoming calls for quality assurance and when listening to this phone conversation we did everything with in our power to explain clearly our service call policy. Our service call is only $29 with one of our coupons, we explained that this is the expense for our professional to make a visit to the home. We are not a bait and switch company. We offered products and services that would ensure this door and operator to function well for years to come. We are also an accredited BBB member and have an outstanding A+ rating.
The tenant wanted to choose the cheapest and most cost effective approach, which I understand as he is not the owner but a tenant. Our field technician and management in the office offered honest recommendations and different degrees of service for this customer to choose from and he declined all recommendations, which in turn he would pay for our service call of $29. I don't understand where the miscommunication came in to play and I humbly apologize for any confusion. GDS does its best to service all of our customers in a timely manner, offer quality parts, and promise that your door and operator will function smoothly, safely, and dependably.
