Dick Van Dyke Appliance World

Will give you the runaround

My mother-in-law purchased a GE washing machine and dryer 15 months ago from Dick Van Dyke. March 8th washing machine would not spin or drain. Call Dick Van Dyke and was told no one could get out here until the following day March 9th. Service tech came out and diagnosed it as a bad door switch. Then he accused my mother-in-law of trying to pry it open, which this would void the warranty. Mother-in-law asked politely to explain how he came up with that idea, and was unable to. Service tech said that he does not have part on truck. You would think a service tech would carry parts for the equipment they sell. Got a phone call March 12th stating that our part was in. Mother-in-law returned their call to schedule appointment to have door switch replaced. Customer service said that everyone is busy until Saturday and she would have to wait. By this time the laundry is piling up. In desperate need of needing a washer, she called me on March 14th and explained what was going on. So I called Dick Van Dyke and asked for a service tech to come to her address because the washing machine was not operating properly. Customer service said she'd have a technician come out tomorrow March 15th. So I asked her to have the technician that's coming out to grab the part that they ordered and bring it with him to fix the washing machine. Customer service asked me if they had already been out here, and I said yes. Then she said I see that we have a technician that is supposed to come out Saturday to fix it. Which is true, and I asked her why we have to wait until Saturday if the technician come out tomorrow. Needless to say they switched Saturday for tomorrow, which is March 15th.
