Disappointed with how Van Dyke handled our case.
In the past we had positive service with Dick Van Dyke when we purchased a refrigerator. We also have had their service technicians come repair our old washer anf dryer. No problem. However my last experience changed all that. Earlier this year we were in the market to buy a new dishwasher and stove we immediately considered Dick Van Dyke. The nightmare started when the new GE dishwasher was installed and started leaking at the door. The installer said that the seal needs replacing. I was a bit nervous about a problem on a brand new never used dishwasher but I thought it would be a simple fix. I thought wrong. We couldn't use our new DW for a few weeks until the part came in and when the technician could come out. But that wasn't the end. Now they told me they needed to rebuild the door! According to one of the technicians he thought the DW may been dropped. So I called the customer "service" to return the DW and get me another one. But nooooo its now past the 30 day return policy. Hey they can send a technician out....again. So two guys come out to work on the door they put it back on but another part was needed and so on it goes. After a whole month of waiting and service calls, the hassles with customer "service" and writing to appliance world (who btw, never did respond to me). Enough is enough after the technician worked in the kitchen frim 4 to about 7 pm the panel still wasn't working and the DW still leaked but now at a different spot. Ugh.. this time I had just about had it and told them to take it back and refund me or get me a new DW thats not damaged. No store should EVER put their customers thru this like they did with me.
So yes DVD is great when things are working as they should but be aware when your new appliance is defective or damaged before it gets to your door. If there is a problem after they install it insist they take it back before they leave even if it "needs a seal". Lessoned learned.
