Disappointed, dissatisfied. They simply lied!
First I’ll apologize for the lengthy review.
I have been using Rose Fence for the past 20 plus years and had to replace fence 2x due to severe weather damage. The last one was replaced due to sandy storm damages. This was 5 years ago in February of 2013 that it was replaced.
Hence, the fence is not holding up well. I supposedly got a “cedar” which is suppose to last if “untreated” anywhere between 15 and 30 years and if treated it can last up to 40 years. In the past I have never treated my fences.
Needless to say, the fence is falling apart.
The gates, one is not closing properly because it hits the post.
The other gate which is hardly ever used, the slat that holds a wimpy lock fell off and some of the slats are coming off the piece they are nailed to. The salesman, Bob told me “they don’t repair gates,” really?
My decorative corners in the front are coming off the ground.
Along one side of the yard the entire fence wobbles and is not straight. They came last year to “repair” it by nailing an extra piece of wood to the post and putting more dirt over it, did not help at all but to further uneven it.
The salesman, Bob, that came to look at my complaints yesterday tried to tell me that all this is happening because I failed to treat my fence every other year. He also said that “gates only have a 3 year warranty.” No where in the contract which I kept states that.
What it does state a 10 warranty on said fences. They are simply lying to try to not repair the damages.
***take note people and beware. ***
I will further say that I did some research and found that what I got was “spruce” wood and not ceder wood. A “spruce” fence will last only 5 to 7 years, bingo! That is what I got from them contrary to my contract that clearly states “ceder.” And I paid close to $7,000 dollars for Spruce! I was a good loyal customer that recommended them to so many people over the years. If you were to look at my fence, you would think it’s very old when in reality it’s only 5 years old!
I wish all good luck and for those who are happy with their fences, you are lucky as I was at first 20 plus years ago. I strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND.
