In one word, reliable!
I saw an advertisement for Quality 1st Basements in my church bulletin. Since I'm in Yonkers and they're all the way over in New Jersey, I figured they must be the experts for the whole area and I gave them a call. Honestly, I was desperate for a way to keep water out of my basement garage. I'd had multiple other companies talk to me about easy solutions, cheap solutions, quick solutions, concrete solutions, outdoor French drain solutions, and so on, but this was the only company that talked about their indoor drainage system with three sump-pumps, including one with a battery backup, to pump the water out of the house. I was impressed by the gentleman's knowledge and explanation. He even gave me a whole book to read on the subject. He was incredible and I was convinced to hire them without shopping around for a better price. It seemed reasonable. I might even have paid more. He knew what he was talking about. He knew what I needed. His company specialized in my problem. Up to this point, I had become best friends with my shop vac because I could count on water in my garage every time it rained. I'm talking about three to four inches of water immediately accumulating. Despite trying all kinds of interim solutions, the problem persisted. It got to the point that I was afraid to leave my house. I couldn't go on vacation. if I had to be away, I would have someone stop by to take a look and tell them where my shop vac was stored. It was the gentleman from Quality 1st Basements who explained to me it didn't matter what I did, the water table was the source of the problem and that would not change. Water would get in and his solution would get the water out. They sent over a fleet of men, about six guys. These guys worked like devils for about three or four hours digging a trench all along the perimeter of the garage and topping it with grates. The grates are level with the floor so I can still drive my car in. They installed three sump pumps to push the water up the wall, outside to the yard, and into the front lawn. When they were done, I was able to run water from a hose into the garage and watch the system work. It's extremely quiet, so I can't hear it, but as long as the green light is blinking and there isn't any water in my garage, I know for a fact it is working. I even find the cover of the pipe outside pushed off from time to time which shows me the force of the water gushing out of the garage. I am beyond thrilled to finally have this problem resolved. It's been about two years since it was originally installed but I knew after the first rainstorm that it was a perfect solution. Thanks to Quality 1st Basements I finally have peace of mind in my own home. Now I can reclaim that space as usable, not worried that at any moment it will be flooded. My shop vac is still my best friend because it got me through all those years but now I only use it for dry vacuuming.
