Quality 1st Basements

Everything Turned Out Well For Me, Just Took A Bit Of Time

I was in the process of selling my home and had a inspector come in for the inspection. They found that we had some structural cracks in the basement. I called Quality 1st Basements and they sent out their salesman to give me an estimate on carbon armor reinforcements to remedy this problem. I agreed to the price that was quoted and wrote them a deposit for the work. I knew that there would be a wait for permits and such. It took four months after I first had my quote to them to start the job. That is to be expected due to the permitting process. Part of the delay was due to revision of the plans for this job as well.

Once they started the job they discovered that the duct work that was in the basement need to be temporarily removed so that they could do their work. So the work stopped about half finished and I hired a heating and ventilating company to come in and temporarily remove the duct work which took them about two days.

After the duct work was removed it took six weeks for Quality 1st Basements to come back out and finish this job. I think that an exception should have been made in this case because the job was already half done and I feel like the original salesman should have noticed the duct work needing to be removed so that I could have taken care of that before they started.

As far as I know the job was done right and it was done prior to selling the home and did pass inspection upon completion.

I do not have any complaints about them other than the time that it took to complete this job and the duct work needing to be removed prior to them starting. I was disappointed that I lost a sale as a result of it not being finished. That all turned out fine after the repairs were made and the second people to look at the house did purchase the home.

I assume that the job was finished correctly due to the inspection, but I personally did not get back to the house to see for myself. Everything turned out well, the house was sold and the basement repaired!
