Quality 1st Basements has done quite a bit of work for me. About five years ago, they did an evaluation of my basement and made some suggestions for waterproofing, but I didn't need that. Instead, I had them install a dehumidifier. A few months later, they came out and ran a drain from my hot water heater out to some external drains so if the water overflows it wouldn't flood the basement but would go out to external drains. Then, they came back on an annual basis for the next five years to service the dehumidifier. I was very happy with them. The techs were excellent, and everybody I worked with was very responsive. It really seemed like a customer friendly company.

Then, the dehumidifier broke. I wasn't happy at all. It's really unbelievable. I've had humidifiers last longer. Furthermore, I have a fairly large basement, and I had let Quality 1st Basements convince me that I needed something commercial size. It cost about $2000, and even though they serviced it annually, it still broke after only five years, and I was just out of luck. I ended up replacing it with a $225 humidifier, and it works just as well. The service was fine, and the techs were great, but the product is terrible, and I thought their response to the problem was terrible as well.
