I am writing this review as my project is being done. It has been a bad experience from the moment I signed the contract and paid a deposit on December 6, 2014 to when they FINALLY started my project, on March 30, 2015. The salesman assured me that if I signed the contract during his sales visit, I would expect a start date in mid-January since business is fairly slow during the winter. My project is a simple one: take down the existing paneling and erect their system of walls. I waited for weeks to hear from them so I called to follow-up. They said they were in the middle of doing designs, figuring out electrical, etc. I said the project did not involve anything but walls. I was told that I would hear from them after their staff meeting. I did not. I waited another couple of weeks. By then, it was mid-February. I was then informed that they had to apply for a permit and that it would take 6 weeks before they could start my project. There was no communication from them whatsoever, no one managed my expectations, and there was no transparency regarding the process. I bit the bullet and decided to wait until March 30 since there was little else I could do as I'm trying to put my house up for sale and time is of the essence. On the start date, the two demo guys who showed up decided it was too much work and walked off the project! Too much work? Really??? When I called the office, Scarlett, who is handling the administrative side of my project, advised me that one of the guys had "personal" issues she just found out about and gave him the option to either complete the job or quit it. I hit the roof. This is how they treat a customer??? About two hours later, another guy showed up, who can't speak a lick of English, to demo the entire room. Needless to say, the project is way behind schedule. I'll be surprised if this is completed at the end of the week. It looks like it will take the full two weeks. He is here again today (with a colleague who also speaks no English) and has been on the phone for the entire time jabbering away. I feel deeply frustrated and angry about this entire situation. This is not a cheap project by any means but I feel like I've been treated as if this project is meaningless to First Quality. I've had difficult vendors before, but First Quality has the dubious distinction of being the very worst in terms of customer care and professionalism. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!
