First Rate Service as usual! AC problem solved.
Midweek I got a warning from Waltons to test my AC in expectation of a hot weekend. I had an AC inspection planned, but I forgot to write the date down. I called Waltons and found my appointment was for Friday, May 20th - perfect timing! Friday, my service tech arrived on schedule and spent almost 2 hours checking the system - no problems found.
Saturday the temps on its way to the mid-90's. I went to turn the system on and found I couldn't! My thermostat LCD panel was blank; I had no heating or AC controls. I knew the batteries were fresh, but changed them anyway. I also pushed the "hardware reset" button within the thermostat - no good, LCD still blank. I called Walton's (closed on Saturday) and got through to their answering service. Within half an hour, my service tech returned. He determined the thermostat was broken and quickly installed a new one and got the AC started. Wow! That's good old fashioned service in todays high-tech world!
