We have hired Walton for many years, mainly because they are the closest company authorized to service System 2000 systems. On the good side, their people are friendly and generous with their time, and they take the time to talk about the equipment, what's going on, what needs to be done, and what they have done.

On the flip side, more than once they have misdiagnosed a problem, failed to correct it, and had to come back one or two times more to fix their own work. Replacing a control board in December took two visits, they billed for both, and they extended no credit for inadequate work in the first visit.

When we decided to get an annual cleaning and check-up, we had to wait something like two months for an appointment. Maybe they were just backed up, but two months?

We also had a bad experience, early on, agreeing to their "gold plan". For a few hundred dollars in advance supposedly we would get first priority on any service calls, free annual service, etc. We paid this for a few years before needing urgent service ("no heat"). But when I applied for priority service and a discount on the charges, they said, "Oh, by the way, the gold plan does not apply unless you buy all your fuel from us." So they had been taking our money for years with no intention of delivering on the promise?

It came to the point of going back to System 2000 to recommend some other service company that might be more professional, but the only alternatives were much further away. So we make do with what we've got.
