I came home late afternoon Friday to find out my heater stopped working during the day. so now I am looking for an HVAC repair at the worst time. I called one local reputable vendor but they couldn't send someone out until next week. Well, my thermostat says the house temp is 67 and it is only 5PM so I clearly need someone today.

I found a yelp listing for the "Top 10 HVAC" companies in Lancaster and these folks were at the top of the list. After scrolling through the reviews, I called. You get an immediate sense that you have made a good call when the person answering the phone, asks in a pleasant voice "How can I make you smile"?

I was told that a tech could indeed come in a few hours but that it would be considered an after hours call. Andrew arrived about 2 hours later and I received a call from the company telling me he was on the way and with an ETA.

Andrew was both professional and courteous. I had an idea of what had occurred and was somewhat on guard because of all of the horror stories you read about with repair vendors. Nonetheless, my concern quickly vanished as Andrew quickly determined the issue which was a shorted capacitor. My drain lines were severely gummed up and the back-up of waste water got into the main unit and shorted the capacitor, tripping the electrical breaker and shutting the unit down.

He thoroughly cleaned everything, replaced the capacitor and left the area with no evidence of his being there. He explained their service plan which I found to be both comprehensive but affordable and which covered not just the HVAC but house plumbing and electrical checks.

The part is found for less than 5.00 on the internet but what I was charged included the labor and very complete sharing of information as to prevention, warranty, as well as the service program.

I am completely satisfied with the encounter and would be pleased to have Andrew handle all of my future maintenance. And yes, I did smile!
