Nice looking fence, poor workmanship
My fence was put up in 2011. It looked great but upon inspection Idaho Fence had used many split boards (it is a 6' cedar fence). They had to come out and replace the boards. Also, it took them four trips out to get the gates to hang properly and be square.
Fast forward to 2014. In a wind storm the fence blew down. It turns out the posts were not set square and consequently the panels were not nailed securely to the posts. Additionally, they used the wrong type of nails and too short of nails for the job. To top it off, they used a nail gun and drove the nails in straight instead of at an angle which enabled a strong wind to just blow the panels right off the fence posts. Yay.
Their comment when I called was that I should have had this fixed when it was installed. There was no way to tell the posts weren't square after installation as you can't see them. And the issue with the nails should be obvious--short of pulling them out to inspect them there was no way to tell.
This company uses poor, shoddy workmanship and will not stand by their work. Yes, they may be a good price, but I guess it is true that you get what you pay for. If you use them, inspect their work every step of the way, including the materials they are using. Be prepared to call them back out to fix their work. A good tip is to withhold 15% of payment until you are satisfied everything is ship shape.
