Very disappointing

We are looking to install a propane fireplace in our home in Lenox. When I phoned the store to see if they serviced our area I was told that they have many customers in our area. We made the trip to the store and thought the experience was good, although we thought the salesman was a bit abrupt.
When we called to have someone come out to look at our site, I was told that they were going To have to charge us to come out since it was so far away, which would be refunded if we went ahead with the job. The salesman sounded as if it would be a big bother so I asked him if he really wanted the job and he hung up on me after saying if thats how I wanted to look at it. If thats how they treat a potential customer I'm really happy we didn't find out after the job was started! I DO NOT RECOMMEND

This is an act of undeserved and unfounded internet Harassment and Bullying by Mrs. Kathryn Kearns from Lenox Ma.

Mrs. Kearns came to my store which we are celebrating 36 years in business on 1/14/17 looking for a gas fireplace. We had a pleasant conversation concerning her particular needs which lasted for approximately 90 minutes.

She called me on 1/17/17 asking if I could perform a gas fireplace evaluation at her home, I responded I would check my schedule and get back to her in a day or so.

I called Mrs. Kathy Kerns on 1/18/17 around 1:30 PM to notify her I would be able to evaluate the location for a potential new gas Fireplace but I would require to assess a small fee for the time traveled and gas used from Springfield to Lenox and back to Springfield and would credit such fee if she decided to move forward with a purchase.

There was a moment of silence and with very condescending tone and arrogant seething voice she said and I quote “WELL JEAN, I GUESS YOU REALLY DON’T WANT THE JOB! By the way she spoke down to me I knew right there and then there was no future between us. How was I to respond to such an outburst of disrespect? I was so intimidated and provoked by what she said, instinctively in defense I retorted “you can take this any way you want!” and hung up. I interpreted her rant as “YOU WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR WHAT?!!”She never asked what the fee would be.

Fifteen minutes later Kathy called back and spoke to my son only to vent her anger and to notify us that she flowed through with retribution against me with a backlash on the internet with a negative review. What kind of person does that??

When my son told me Mrs. Kearns called back I was hoping she was calling to apologize for her disrespectful outburst towards me, maybe she had a bad day. I was willing to forgive, forget and not hold a grudge so we could move forward but I was sorry to hear that was not the case.
