Honest and Diligent Techs, Rude Office Manager
I work with the largest privately held mobile home operator in the nation and we had Summit Heating and Air Conditioning come in and check out some equipment in one of our clubhouses. The technicians were unbelievably helpful. They were honest and diligent in their work, and they gave me the info I needed. The office manager, on the other hand, was one of most unpleasant people I've come across in 10 years of doing this job. The problem was that I didn't realize they don't take American Express and that's what all of our business cards are so I was unable to pay on the spot. She just handled the situation in a completely unprofessional way, accusing me of being fraudulent and deceitful. She said she told me about the billing options when we booked and I apologized and let her know I would be happy to get her my personal visa, I just didn't have it on me at the time. She continued to challenge me and berate me for not knowing they don't take American Express, to the point that I told her they could keep the report until I got them since no services had been rendered. I didn't take it personally, but in terms of having your integrity questioned over an HVAC inspection that was $400, I thought it was unprofessional. I literally just didn't realize that they don't take American Express.
