Service never considered that the gas line had caused the problems.

I described the noises I had heard the boiler give when I did not have heat. At that service visit the water heater wasn't checked. If it had been it would have been found
that the pilot light was out. This would have made it obvious that the Washington Gas had either stopped the gas flow or lowered the gas pressure causing the boiler to stop heating and the hot water heater to lose it's pilot light. The next day service lit the pilot light of the hot water heater, but there was no reason given to me why this had happened. I learned the cause by talking to my neighbor across the street who had the same problem at the same times exactly. Johnson Plumbing and Heating came to her house and correctly told her the cause. Later I learned from 2 other neighbors who lived 3 houses away from mine that they had exactly the same problem at the time when it happened to me. Thus showing that this was a major gas interruption caused by Washington Gas. One neighbor requested the company to come to her house, which the Gas Company did and acknowledged the problem. In the future it is important for Flood service workers to consider that the cause may be from the gas line and always check the hot water heater!
