I purchased a service plan that covers two visits per year to service the HVAC I bought earlier this year. At my service visit, I was encouraged to buy an air-cleaning system, which, while very expensive, seemed like a good idea. After it was installed, I was informed it would require filter changes at each service visit to the tune of $250. Oh, and I really need to plan for a new thermostat. I went away for a few days and returned to a house that smells awful—so much for air cleaning. And it left me to wonder whether I am a customer or just a sucker they can continue to sell more stuff to. My fault for agreeing to the upsells...but it doesn’t make me feel good about John C. Flood.
