It's been hit and miss.
Hoffman Heating has installed two furnaces for me. One of them was fantastic. The first time I used them, they came out mid-winter with a great technician and salesperson. The next time was the opposite. It was terrible. They came to my new house, and it cost twice as much money as the previous time because it was a better unit and air conditioning. It was a bad install that looks like a kindergartner did it.
Instead of teaching me how to program and use the system, the installer gave me the manual and said, "You're a pretty bright guy. Here, figure it out." I was extremely upset. I asked for the specific technician from the first time to come back because he was so good, but I was not thrilled at all with the second time.
They had to come back because the original A-coil on the brand new unit was defective. They cut a big piece of the sheet metal off to replace the A-coil, and they just taped another piece over when they left. It looked like a kindergartner put it back together. I was not impressed. When I look at other people's units, I am underwhelmed with how mine looks, though the unit itself is fantastic.
Another time, I requested my original technician to come help me set up the switches to get things rocking and rolling, and that was fantastic, but he was unaware of the sheet metal work needing to be done. He was not told to bring a sheet metal truck, and at that point I was so frustrated that I stopped calling them.
