Came in for one thing, ended up doing a whole bunch of things, and ended up costing more than I expected.

CleanMyFurnace.com came in to clean my ducts. Afterwards they told me that my furnace was dirty so they cleaned that as well. Next, they told me that my chimney also needed cleaning and so they cleaned that as well. It all sounded a little suspicious to me and it seemed quite like an opportunistic act. Because I can't really see the inside of my ducts, furnace, and chimney, I can't quite comment on the quality of the job they did. I understand how I could have said "no" to them when they told me that the other things needed cleaning but because I'm not an expert in the field, I said yes.

We always inspect the furnace and chimney as well as the dryer vent. If we can prevent just one instance of carbon monoxide poisoning or a house fire, it would be well worth the extra few minutes it takes at each job for our technicians to check for danger zones.
