Very happy with my choco-lab and it proved to be love at first sight!
I am really happy with my puppy. Everyone asks where I got her and they are very impressed. (Many people seem to have fears about "puppy mills.") When people ask if she was "a rescue" at first I would say, no, but then started realizing, yes. She rescued me and I rescued her!
Though the first few weeks were stressful as I started a new job and wasn't getting a lot of sleep (kinda like having a new baby in the house), we soon settled into routines and I have found this to be a match made in heaven.
Cocoa has been great companionship, eager for every new experience--this weekend she met the ocean for the first time and saw her first bonfire and smoke--and she loves going everywhere with me.
The blended choc-lab and retriever make for a great personality. She is great around my grandkids (who I think love to see her more than me now!) and a quick learner who loves to please.
She has already doubled in size and I'm guessing she'll grow to about 50 lbs by the end of the year. What a joy to my life. Of course she has also made me healthier because we get up at 5:30 and walk twice a day. ;-) I needed that!
Thanks again. By the way, my 3star rating on pricing is because prices have doubled in just a few years. If that rate of inflation applied to everything, cars, appliances and everything else would be unaffordable. $1000 was a huge stretch for me and it would have been helpful to stretch it out over a few payments, but I knew I needed her as much as she needed me.
