I"ll keep this short. There is a landlord involved, but it really doesn't change the story. Our water heater went out the weekend before the 4th of July. I called a plumber Monday that 3rd that was recommended, but they couldn't come out. So, I looked on Yelp and found Preferred Plumbing, good ratings, available, let's go.

The Tech showed up reasonably on time and worked the issue (prob with pilot thermopile). PP's tech worked for a couple hours, but finally threw in the towel, saying the WH wasn't safely repairable, the WH should be replaced. Estimate $1800-2200. Then handed me a bill for ~$350, which I paid. Then I figured okay replacement time and told the landlord. He grudgingly approved, but in the meantime said lets get the other guys to check.

They check, find thermopile issue, BUT notice the WH is under warranty. He placed a call to the company, who knew of the issue and immediately drop shipped replacement parts to my home. Next day, Plumber returns, fixes the WH in an hour, no lie. AND the charge is ~$530 .. NOT $1800!!. BTW Preferred had a 2nd guy come out to make a detailed estimate for my landlord before the other guys, and he missed it too, handed me an $1800+ estimate. That's the story .. you guys missed badly on this job .. and i'm out $350, that simply stinks. Impress me by refunding my money ..
