Service was horrible
I went to university tire on pantops to have my vintage car's front end aligned after I had completely rebuilt the front end. When I arrived for my appointment the car was having trouble starting when hot so I asked them to take a look at it and see if they knew what was wrong. When I picked up the car I noticed that the upper control arm on the passengers side was crooked in the groves which adjust tire camber. I asked them about it and they replied with "oh we checked and it's all aligned correctly." So I payed the bill and asked what they had figured out in terms of the starting system. They said that I didn't have a big enough battery even though the battery is the same size as original and it had worked perfectly for the last two years. So on my way home I stopped at advance auto parts to have them do a free battery check. The checked and said that the battery was putting out 768cca and it was rated at 800cca. Advance told me that the battery was perfectly fine and it was probably a dying starter. So I wanted to see what cca university tire had said it was. I looked at my receipt to see and saw they had charged me $44.95 and provided me with no information on what the battery had read for them. I went home and noticed that the car was still pulling dangerously to the left. When I got home I did some diagnostic work my self and noticed that a wire had been placed where it shouldn't have been creating a hot line that would have shorted if the other end had touched any metal and that my starter wire had been burned up. I found the problem to be the starter and I replaced which completely solved the problem. With the other problems on the car I decided to call university tire and set up an appointment to fix the things still wrong. When I called as soon as I said they had missed diagnosed the problems the man became very rude and started saying that everything I put on the car was wrong and that because i had a big vintage engine that had been modified the whole starting system was incorrect. Even with that I decided to take it in to fix the dangerous pull so I set up an appointment for 7:30 in the morning. That morning I show up at 7:25 and tell them I was ready for my appointment. They responded with oh the guy will be here soon and he'll get right on that. After 2 hours of waiting for them to start work I finally ask when the guy will be ready and they told me oh just 15 more minutes. At 10:00 after 2 1/2 hours of waiting I complain and ask why the didn't honor my appointment time. The man said fine do you just want a refund. So I told him yes. He gives me the refund receipt and it's only for $102.52 of the 253.79 I had payed so I asked why he hadn't refunded the rest of it. He said that the diagnostic charge was acceptable because that's the first thing they tested and that's what they thought was wrong. I told them how could the battery be bad if it was within 10cca of original and he responded with "if a battery drops 10cca its bad." The universally accepted drop for a bad battery is 20% which in my case was 160cca not 10. When I called him on it he threatened to call security and then proceeded to have his assistant call 911. Overall the service was terrible and don't expect them to be honest they will over charge for everything and will retaliate if called on it.
