Very respectful technician, but nothing got done for my money!
I've been using Arnold & Sons Plumbing, Sewer & Drain for this and that as I can afford it. It's my parents' old house and even though I grew up here, I don't know anything about home maintenance. But I knew my toilet was leaking, and my water softener wasn't working, so I made a service call to Arnold & Sons. The guy was very nice and told me what to do to get the water softener working again. I think it was too full. It is an old device, but it works. When he looked at the toilet, he told me it needed a new shutoff valve, and gave me four options. I've been over and over with them about price and financing. I can't afford some of the steep costs for big fixes. After all that looking and advising, the least I wanted was to have my water softener taken care of. But he just told me how to do it, he didn't do it himself. Then he charged me one hundred nine dollars for the looking and advising. He didn't do anything else. I know the water softener is old, but it still works. I know my water heater is old, but it still works. I really wanted him to put in a new toilet, but his price was too high. I ended up calling Lowes and their price is reasonable for a new shut-off valve, new toilet and whatever re-piping needs to be done. In the meantime, I'm out a hundred dollars for nothing except advice from Arnold & Sons Plumbing, Sewer & Drain.
