Our experience with Gilmore Heating Air & Solar (Placerville CA.) 10/15/2018

We had Gilmore out to repair my elder mother's A/C unit.
Her husband just died last month she is all by herself and now the heater will not turn on.
The Gilmore technician opened up the main unit - took it apart and proceeded to tell us that the whole inside of the heater unit was defective and must be replaced. He said he could not repair the heater.
We paid him for the service call. (Which has since been refunded).
Then the salesman showed up at our door within 1 hour pitching a fix for $5,000.00 or a complete brand new replacement for $10,000.00. Also pitching that these "discounts" were only available until 10/31 - so we better hurry!!!!
We called out another company - they found the (actual) problem [a defective thermostat] - fixed it for under $100.00 in 10 minutes and went on his way. Now the system runs like new!

Either Gilmore is trying to rip off the elderly (or anyone that would fall for such fraud tactics) or their technicians and sales team have a conspiracy to rip off the elderly. Either way these people are COMPLETE CROOKS!

After talking to friends & neighbors about this - they all told me that Gilmore is widely known for these fraudulent tactics. Even 1 neighbor told me that she quit working at Gilmore because of the fraud tactics that they were committing on their customers.

SHAME ON YOU JOHN GILMORE for allowing your family empire to fall to deception and fraudulent criminal activity just to make a buck.

Followup.... The service manager contacted me and proceeded to insist that they DO NOT do.....what they just did to us. The same thing that all of our friends & neighbors told me = tell you that your unit is bad when it is not ... hoping to make a sale of a brand new unit =.....just so you know.......THEY DON'T DO THAT.
But they did it to us just this week!
