I am a first time home buyer, and the one thing I remember from all of the classes I took through Portland Housing Center was "Don't skip the home inspection." Ken was recommended by PHC and I am very happy I contacted him. He allowed me to ask questions throughout the inspection, pointed out things that he would recommend be repaired or maintained better, and offered ideas and examples of how things that needed repair could be fixed. He reviewed the photos taken during the inspection with me and my realtor on site. His report was received that evening, and was not only detailed and thorough, but provided a photo (or multiple photos) of every single item mentioned in his report as needing repair or replacing. He also included helpful photos of where things on the property were located, so that even if I didn't know the fancy name of the sewer access, I would know where it was and what it looked like. I would highly recommend Portico Home Inspection to any buyer, but particularly other first time home buyers like myself to have someone knowledgeable and experienced walk you through the things you need to know about your home and how to maintain it properly.
