Ninth Street Auto Repair & Transmissions

I authorized a $1400 used transmission and left a voice message with authorization Shop gave me no written bid, and thought I wanted a rebuke for $800 more. I asked Gordon to play the voice message on his phone to corroborate my. version. He refuses and demands near full price. He refuses my offer to pay for actual labor and materials. I'm in the midst of a 700 mile road trip and need the car now

Very very poor communication by shop

I am having to pay under full protest and full reservation of all legal rights

I'm sorry Amos about your understanding of how this transaction transpired. Your message indicated you were on a trip to Redding to trade this car and were having issues with the transmission. The vehicle turned out to be a heavily modified Mustang that had been used on or off the track considerably. We indicated that the transmission was definitely broken and the rear end would be unlikely to make to the conclusion of your trip. Gordon offer you 3 choices; a used transmission with no warranty, we could have Gearworks, local business rebuild it here, or the quickest solution would be to replace the transmission with a remanufactured transmission by a factory in Portland. You chose the remanufactured transmission and offered to go to Portland and pick it up. We installed it for you today and only then did you begin to balk at the price. We discounted the repair over $300 to compensate for the trip you made to Portland and even offered to take the transmission out and let you tow the car away. Although you may have felt it was not explained to you fully, it was. The transmission carries a full warranty and you decided not to have it removed. These were all decisions made by you. We only offer choices and information, we do not force our customers to do anything. Again, I am sorry about any misunderstanding. If you are still unhappy, I am more than willing to remove the transmission and let you take the car.
