AC conversion

Wold not recommended these guys. They did a R12 to R134A conversion on my truck. What they failed to replace was the evaporation drier canister a $21.05 part from a local parts store. The old canister oil won't mix with the new oil. So air compressor blew up ruining entire air-conditioning system repair bill is now going to be over $750 with parts. This was easily avoidable by replacing a inexpensive part in the first place. Their stand was it was not their fault they won't cover the repair.

James, in any conversion or recharge of an A/C system a vacuum is first performed by a sophisticated piece of equipment removing ALL oil and freon from the system. It then holds this vacuum for 30 minutes. If there are no leaks, then it is recharged with the proper oil and normally up to 2 pounds of freon. Your vehicle is a late 90's Ford truck and still had the original compressor in it. The pressures created by the conversion likely caused it to go out. An oil canister would not have prevented this and there would not be any oil left in the old canister to have caused an issue.
