Quakertown Veterinary Clinic

Over 1K bill, no diagnosis and NO CARE IN THE WORLD!

My 11 year old cat was suffering from constant sneezing, runny eyes and mucus when I took him to this clinic. They 1st put him under anesthesia for a dental exam/cleaning to eliminate any dental infections. Then he went under again at a later date for a biopsy through his nasal cavity to make sure he had no tumors or cancer. At the end of it all I was left with a $1300 balance (after I already paid about $100-$300 at each previous visit) and his diagnosis was stamped "idiopathetc" which means "of unknown cause". I couldn't pay the remaining balance in full so I was put on a payment plan with them. I then took him to another clinic - this time a small family owned clinic in Stewartsville, NJ and the doc there suggested an allergy shot to see if his symptons subsided. Almost immediately he no longer sneezed, wheezed or had watery eyes. So...my cat has allergies!!! I called Quakertown and explained this to them in hopes that they could work with me on my remaining balance (which is now $600) and after calling and leaving 4 messages within a few of weeks I got a hold of the manager who then asked for his records from the other vet, which I provided, and then she told me the Doc would call me after reviewing it. Doc (Dr. Joe Consigli) calls me, gives me this $@!#% about process of elimination then ended it with "I don't feel there is any justification to reduce the balance". He mentioned process of elimination but he couldn't eliminate the more obvious one before putting an 11 year cat under anesthesia TWICE to check for tumors and cancer? Sad that I actually thought that going to a larger facility like this would care about him, and not about an extra buck. Nonetheless I'll pay the 1k plus bill for his idiopatic diagnosis, but you guys will never see me or my 2 other family members and 3 or 4 friends that I have sent your way again. BTW, my kitty is doing well, thanks to Dr. Blease and his team at Common Sense for Animals in Stewartsville, NJ.

We are sorry you feel we dont care. This couldnt be further from the truth. Our Dr Joe Consigli and your doctor at your new veterinary clinic, discussed the case and agree that the diagnostics and medical treatment we performed, at your request were, standard of care. We have tried to explain that diagnostics do not always reveal a cause for symptoms and sometimes it is a process of elimination to figure out what is going on. We also have 2 calls to you that we have not yet heard back from you, as well as reaching out to you via this platform. It is unfortunate you have decided to take this route and not call us back when trying to help you. We wish you and your pet the very best for the future with your new veterinarian.
