Quakertown Veterinary Clinic

Disappointed.

I would not recommend this clinic to anyone nor will I ever return.
When my 5 year old standard poodle stopped eating and began losing weight, my primary vet did blood work and suggested an ultra sound (they don't do ultra sounds there). So, I took her to this clinic. They performed every test imaginal with negative results. They never took blood work to check her CBC or metabolic panel. They went off of the blood results from my primary vet which indicated high calcium. So I asked them to do blood work to check her for Addison's and thyroid disease. Both negative. I gave her steroids and subcutaneous fluids at home for several months.
Long story short, I never got an answer as to why my dog was dying. One day I found her unresponsive and unable to move, so I took her in... It was time to say good bye to my beloved Daisy. I was heartbroken. The clinic never once called me or sent a sympathy card. Just another bill for euthanization.

We are sorry you feel this way. After reviewing your records, we do see that a differential list was discussed and the likely cause of Daisy's illness .It was discussed with you that confirmation of the diagnosis may have been through a biopsy and at that time you elected hospice care for Daisy at home, through the course of steroids and supportive care. The Doctor discussed hospice with you and supported your decision and aided you in providing that, with prescriptions. Often when there is recent blood work from a regular veterinarian, we do go by those results so that you don't incur the additional cost of repeated tests. We are sorry if there seemed to be a lack of communication. We understand the grief that the loss of a pet causes. We hope your tears are soon replaced with fond memories.
