Awful Experience

Was very disappointed with the treatment received from this clinic. This is not our regular vet however I chose to take my one year old pit here last saturday for an emergency torn and bleeding nail that was ripped down to her tissue. She was in a lot of pain and could not put any pressure on her paw. The woman who took her back into the room refused to let me go in with her and came out not five minutes later acting completely frazzled saying that my dog has behavior issues and she could not perform any action to her nail or paw. She insisted I make an appointment with the behaviorist right away. Please explain to me, what one year old puppy who is in pain is not going to be frightened when a stranger is approaching them to potentially create more pain. I was infuriated with this woman who clearly is not trained to handle all types of animals. She told me she would need to be sedated to do the procedure so there would be no charge for the day so I walked out. Took her to Pennridge animal hospital the next day, her normal vet, where they fixed everything up just fine without sedatives or anything. Not a week later I get a bill in the mail from Quakertown for $100! How ridiculous! I will never be taking another animal here again. Major thumbs down to you guys. Thankful my puppy got the proper care that she needed and deserved elsewhere.

We are sorry your vist was percieved the way it was. Often treatment of animals is performed in the treatment room along with readily available help from other staff. Other animals are being treated on an emergency basis and it is not a good idea to have clients also in the room while several things maybe happening. Our staff did attempt to help your dog, but she became extremely unmanageable. To cause her less stress and pain it was suggested she was temporarily sedated as the nail would need to be clipped off at the base. Any suggestion for a behaviorist was to help aid you and your pet and often pets fear can be managed with training techniques. We are happy to hear that your dog got the help she needed and apologize to you for your experience.
