Cody Pools

Don't Walk, Run From This Company

DON'T WALK, RUN - 8/21 we sign a contract w/ Cody Pools & were promised the world by Shawn in sales, including a dig date of 12/21. Construction started 2/22 & end 5/22. 8/22 & I have a whole new construction site.
The 1st issue was 2 tree stumps that Shawn (Sales) told us would be removed by Cody Pools. When Todd Borsodi (Project Manager) came to do the initial site survey he tried to tell us it was our responsibility to remove them. Cody Pools did have them ground down because we were able to prove what was promised to us by Shawn thanks to our security camera's that recorded the conversation.
2/1 Cody finally dug for the pool & concrete was poured on 2/3. At this point 2 huge payments were made to Cody Pools. From 2/3 - 2/16 no work was completed . Todd kept insisting work would progress. 2/17 Todd stated he pulled 1 crew to complete plumbing etc. The work per Todd would take 2 - 3 days. The plumbing started 2/22 & was completed on 2/23. As on 3/1/ we failed 2 county inspections, plumbers came back on 3/4/ for the 3rd time to fix their mistakes. On 3/7 Todd canceled the 3rd inspection. No other work was being done. Todd rescheduled the inspection for 3/11. He stated if it passed inspection the footer would be poured 3/15. Todd also blamed Pasco County Inspectors & personal issues he had with them as the reason for failed inspections. I reached out to Vince (General Manager) concerning the issues we were having & the fact that at this point work was basically at a stand still. From 2/1 - 3/10 a total of 3 1/2 days were worked on our pool.
On 3/11the inspection was completed and it passed. On 3/14 footer was poured. On 3/16 tile guys never showed because of rain that must have been in their imaginations. This pushed back dirt removal. Tile & coping was completed 3/17. Grading was supposed to be completed 3/16, crew was a no show. Work again stopped from 3/16/22 - 3/31 when Todd showed up to do the bond wire himself. BETWEEN 3/16 - 3/21 NO WORK WAS DONE.
On 3/21 graders showed up, per Todd they did not take enough dirt out.
Screen company was scheduled to be here on 3/22, crew was a no show.
However, the yard and my neighbors yard were left like a junk yard (soda bottles, pizza boxes, boxes with parts for the pool, left everywhere).
3/29 I reached out to Vince (GM). Vince stated he would get with Todd on the issues. Once I spoke with Vince the Graders showed up a few hours later to remove more dirt. EVERYTHING CODY POOLS DOES, HAS TO BE DONE 2 OR 3 TIMES BEFORE IT IS DONE CORRECTLY. From 3/29 - 4/8/ no work was done. 4/9 the paver crew showed up to remove concrete pad from old porch & brace the roof. In the process on removing the concrete pad they cracked a brand new hurricane window. (The paver crew did reimburse us for the window, weeks later). 4/10 - 4/12 small jobs were completed by Todd.
4/14 a dump truck pulled up at 745am, paving crew never showed up until 830am. The paving crew started laying pavers & completed the job on 4/15.
4/18 the screen company dropped off the screen and cage. 4/19 - 4/20 the screen co. completed their portion of the project with the exception of the the 4 posts that brace the roof. They stated they knew nothing about the posts. Once again Cody dropped the ball. 4/23 - 4/28 both plumbers & electricians were here to finish there parts of the construction. 5/4 Todd showed up to run the auto drain that the plumbers failed to complete, 5/8 he showed up to run the auto fill, that the plumbers failed to do, 5/10 he showed up to finish the bolts for the support posts for the roof. 5/21 my pool was finally filled & thought I was done with this company. NOT THE CASE. 5/30 the patio flooded as well as my finished Lanai because of either pitch of the pavers or the deck drain could not handle the amount of rain On 6/1 both Todd & a Ken showed up & tried to blame us stating we were responsible to take the water away from the house. We added a 3ft by 10ft by 2ft deep drain field & an extension to the down spout per their recommendation. On 7/26 we were flooded again. Todd came on 8/1 & added a 2in drain pipe from the deck drain to the front of the house, 8/4 he dug up the 3in pipe & added a French drain from the deck drain to the front of the yard. They ripped up brad new sod, a finished flower bed and & punctured sprinklers in 3 spots. 8/5 the tile company is now her ripping up pavers to correct the pitch & and add a 4in drain filled.
I have left numerous messages for Brent Foster(Construction mgr) who returns no calls. This has been been a horrible experience, zero accountability & communication, damages not fix, issues afterwards not address properly & additional damage to our yard and home. Todd has been unprofessional through the whole process including telling us that Cody lost money on our pool because the sale guy quoted wrong. When he does not like what you say, he literally walks away from the job.
