Not recommend

When I tried to pick a pool builder, I would try to weigh and compare their reputation, price, the scope of work/capacity, but I never thought the project management would be such a pain in the process.
Cody Pools had long-run business record, multiple offices, and obvious most footprints compared with other builders, the reviews were not perfect but who will be? The price is 2nd highest from the estimates I got.
The first dig began in May. It just started up on mid-Feb. Yep you hear me right, it took more than 10 months.
I could not understand when one specific job team came, how they would frequently come and disappear for a few days. And they would stand up for the appointment randomly. We waited for the tile team for more than 4 weeks with nothing happening on the job site after 4 weeks watering the concrete, then another 2 weeks for the electrician again without any activity. When the PM called me that the electrician could not make it again for the appointment, I was not surprised anymore. I remembered that the PM explained to me once that the contractor was not Cody Pools exclusive so they might take another job while doing mine. Well, I assume that’s where the project management process should do better. CP has the most footprints in the industry, they should have the best bargaining power and arrange job sequencing better.
I know that the builder will say it’s because of the material and labor shortage and weather if you ask them, the circumstances are real, but I could still see a lot of space to improve.
Was going to rate 3 stars, but decide to give 2, as I found they did not install the auto refill part, and I waited months for the PM to get me some pipe wrapping materials to better protect the exposed PVC pipes, today he said he “was trying to help”. I guess I could try to buy them somewhere myself rather than keep waiting, so one star was removed.
