soon after the tenant moved in they noticed a water leak under the kitchen sink. We had to call a plumber to repair and it turned out that the "P" trap under the sink had been installed improperly and an easy fix. However it was an expensive repair to get a plumber out on a weekend. This should have been caught during the inspection.

Sorry to hear there was an issue with a "P" trap. There are many times that all plumbing components cannot be seen under sinks because of items stored under sinks by the current occupants/owners. These notations are made in the report. This can cause something simple to be not viewed which can come up after the inspection and when the house is cleaned out. There are hundreds of items reviewed and reported within a home inspection report. Having a minor "P" trap leak issue seems to be just that, minor as you indicated in your review.
