Here is the email I sent Willis Orchards: "I ordered three pomegranates from you last year and was wondering if, being from GA, they would survive the winter which rarely dips below freezing but you can always count on at least 4 days/year below freezing. This past winter was no exception. Not only did they survive, they are growing like gangbusters, all have flowers on them and they are now having to be staked up and I haven’t had time to prune them. Now am wondering how to prune them. Should I wait until winter when they are dormant? If so I can stake them up if they develop fruit so they don’t break, or snip off the blossoms on the ends of the longer branches. Would you suggest that? Or something else? I am AMAZED at how happy they are and how much they have grown in one year.

Willis' reply was to send me a wonderful pruning guide from UC Davis and they recommended I snip off the blossoms the first year. Thank you, Willis! I am completely satisfied with my purchase!
