I just recently found out that my mother loved having a Green Gage Plum tree in her yard as a child growing up in Utah. She said she remembers how sweet and delicious they were! She is 82 years old and I thought it would be fun for her to watch one growing in her yard again and hopefully have a reunion with the sweetest plum she has ever eaten, so I purchased a tree from Willis Orchards. They told me that when the fruit came on, my mom was to pluck it off for the first season so that the growth would go to the tree and make it stronger. The next year she would have a tree full of fruit. This season came and went without one bloom on the tree. I called the company and they asked me to get my mom to take some pictures of the tree so they could see what might be the cause. When they saw the pictures, they didn't see any reason why the tree hadn't produced any blooms. It looked exactly the way they thought it should. They said they had never seen this situation before, so they were stumped. They offered to send mom another tree and I was so grateful! They have been so wonderful to work with. Mom isn't very confident in her ability to raise a fruit tree and every time she has called and asked for help or had a question, they have been very supportive and informative and friendly. I have been so pleased with their service. The only reason I only gave 3 stars for the price of value is because as of yet, we haven't gotten any fruit, but we will have 2 trees now, so hopefully we'll be in luck next year!
