Was in a hurry to leave and sell us a new unit

Technician came to examine our central air. My unit is older and was out of freeon. Technician stated i should just purchase a new unit instead of refilling my current one. He asked me if I wanted him to perform a test for leaks but I had an errand to run so I declined. Once i left I changed my mind and called my husband to have the technician go ahead and perform the leak test but the technician refused and was rude to my husband and son. He then left our residence and I am no closer to having an answer about what is actually wrong with my central air unit then I originally was...Im just $89.00 poorer.

Jada, I am truly sorry for the experience you had with our company. I would like to address you concerns. I have reviewed your paperwork & I see where the technician noted that your system was completely void of refrigerant. This is positive indication of a leak in what is a sealed refrigerant system. The technician was right to offer a leak search and should have done so when you called to authorize it. The technician who was at your home is usually complimented by our customers for his thoroughness and his customer service. I am sorry if your husband and son experienced something different. What I also like to mention is that our technicians are NOT commissioned, so he would not been able to give you a price on a new system and made the same amount of money for your service call regardless of the outcome. We have this policy so customers, such as yourself, do not have a feeling of trying to be sold something when it could possibly be repaired.

With that said, I would like to offer one of our senior technicians to come to your home and perform a leak search for you. Because of your inconvenience, if you would allow me to, I would like to do this at no additional cost to you. Once the leak search has been done, you have the necessary information to make an educated decision on what is best for you. At that point you can choose to repair, if possible, or to replace with a new system.
